Í dag, 30 júlí 2017, tóku starfsmenn Faxaflóahafna sf. vel á móti skemmtiferðaskipinu Le Boreal í Akraneshöfn. Þetta er í fyrsta skipti sem skemmtiferðaskip kemur til Akraness og því sögulegur viðburður bæði fyrir bæjarfélagið sem og Faxaflóahafnir sf. Le Boreal er í eigu Ponant. Skipið er 10.944 brúttótonn, 142 m. að lengd, 18 m. að breidd og með djúpristu upp á 4,8 m. Á skipinu eru 6 þilför fyrir gesti. Le Boreal getur tekið mest 264 farþega en auk áhafnar.
Í tilefni af fyrstu komu sinni til Akraness, þá er skipstjóra afhendur skjöldur frá Faxaflóahöfnum til minningar um þessa ferð. Starfsmenn Faxaflóahafna vilja þakka áhöfn Le Boreal kærlega fyrir okkur og óskum þeim góðrar skemmtunar á Íslandi.

Today, July 30th 2017, the cruise ship Le Boreal sailed to Port of Akranes. This is the first time that Port of Akranes receives a ship call from a cruise ship, therefore this is a historical event both for Akranes and Faxaports. Le Boreal is owned by Ponant. The ship is 10.944 BT, the lengt is 142 m., the beam is 18 and the draft is 4.8 m. The ship has 6 passengers decks. Le Boreal can take maximum 264 passengers, plus the crew.
The employees of Faxaports were invited to the ship where they delivered to the captain a granit shield and gifts. The Le Boreal crew offered a guided tour around the cruise ship. Employees of Faxaports want to thank the captain and his crew for the tour and a great welcome ceremony. Faxaports wished the tourists, the captain and the crew a nice stay here at Akranes, Iceland.
